Hotspot billing with TP-Link Omada, no MikroTik needed

Not every network is built on MikroTik. If your sites already run TP-Link Omada access points with an Omada controller, you can still sell WiFi with M-Pesa and vouchers.

How it works

  1. Your Omada controller sends new WiFi users to the VunaFlow portal instead of its own page.
  2. The customer picks a package and pays by M-Pesa, or enters a voucher code.
  3. VunaFlow tells the controller to let that device online for the time of the package.
  4. When the time runs out, the device is sent back to the portal.

What you need

  • Omada access points with a controller (software, hardware or cloud).
  • An internet line and an M-Pesa till or paybill.
  • About 20 minutes for the controller settings. Our Omada guide and video walk through every screen.

When to choose Omada or MikroTik

Omada is easy to roll out across many access points and manages them from one controller. MikroTik gives you PPPoE for home customers and finer control at the router. Many ISPs use both: MikroTik for PPPoE and the main hotspot, Omada for extra sites. VunaFlow shows both in one dashboard.
