Will it work if my router is on 192.168.1.1 / behind a regular Safaricom router?

Yes. We open a secure L2TP/IPsec tunnel from your MikroTik to our VPS — your router doesn't need a public IP, doesn't need port forwarding, doesn't need a static address from your provider. CGNAT, double-NAT, dynamic IP — all fine. Setup takes the same 5 minutes.

Do I need a Communications Authority (CA) license to start?

Short answer: no, you can launch today. Almost every VunaFlow operator (1–3 routers in a shop, plaza, or estate) runs without a CA license — enforcement against small operators is essentially nil. The ASP-T1 license only becomes a real consideration if you scale past ~10 routers, bid on government/school tenders, or want bulletproof legal cover. When that day comes, our Kenya Compliance Starter walks you through it. Until then, focus on shipping your first hotspot.

Can I use a home fibre line (Safaricom Home Fibre / Faiba Home), or do I need a business line?

Technically yes — VunaFlow works on any internet line. But residential plans from Safaricom and Faiba forbid commercial reselling in their terms. Get caught (rare, but it happens) and you lose the line without refund. Business Fibre is ~2× the price but explicitly allows reselling — and the price difference disappears once you're earning 10k+/mo.

What MikroTik routers actually work? I have a hAP lite.

Anything running RouterOS v6.45+ with API enabled. Tested daily on hAP lite (RB941), hAP ac², hAP ax², RB750, RB951, and CCR-series for ISPs at scale. The hAP lite (~KES 4,500 at Supreme Networks) is the cheapest path to your first hotspot.

How much does VunaFlow actually cost me per month?

KES 500 per router per month — no hidden charges. PPPoE customers are KES 15 each per month. Optional one-time KES 1,000 if you want us to set the hardware up for you. VunaFlow takes 0% of your customer payments — the Safaricom Daraja transaction fee goes straight to your M-Pesa till, not us.

Do I need my own M-Pesa Daraja account?

No. You just need a Safaricom Buy Goods Till or Paybill. VunaFlow handles the Daraja integration end-to-end — you paste your details into Settings and STK Push starts working. Saves the 2–4 week Daraja Producer onboarding everyone dreads.

What happens after the 3-day free trial?
