Omada access points: see and change your WiFi name

  • If you use TP-Link Omada access points, the Omada APs page now shows the WiFi name your customers see on their phones, with a Change button. Renaming an access point only changes its label for you; the WiFi name is what customers join. After a change, customers' phones see the new name and need to join it once.
  • When you set up Omada, the WiFi name now starts empty so you type your own (for example LEBTECH FREE WIFI) instead of getting your account name.
16 October 2026

Payments per router and per access point, in the page and in the CSV

  • Payments now has Router and Access point filters next to the dates. Choose a router or an access point and the list and every total (today, this week, this month, last month, your dates) show only its money. Access points are the boxes you named on My Network.
  • Export CSV now downloads every payment that matches your filters, not only the ones loaded on screen, and each line says its Router and Access point. The old Network column is now called Mobile network: it is the mobile money network (M-Pesa, Airtel Money), not your WiFi network.
14 October 2026

PPPoE plans: hide a plan from customers, and plan checks

  • PPPoE → Plans now shows whether customers see each plan, with a Hide from customers button. A hidden plan is no longer offered in the customer portal, but the customers already on it keep renewing at its price and still see it as their current plan.
  • A plan with customers on it cannot be deleted. Instead of an error, you are offered Hide from customers.
  • Plans now warn you when the name says a different speed than customers get (for example the name says 20 Mbps but the speed gives 10 Mbps), when the name says a different price, when a plan customers can buy costs almost nothing for a month, or when a test plan is on sale. These are only warnings: nothing is changed for you.
14 October 2026

A red warning on every page when your SMS credit is finished

  • If your SMS credit runs out, a red bar now shows at the top of every page, not only the Dashboard. It tells you since when, and how many customers did not get their code by SMS, with a Top up SMS credit button. It goes away by itself once you top up. ISPs who send from their own phone or their own SMS account do not see it.
14 October 2026

Tanzania: all your customer texts from your own phone

  • Once your phone is paired under Communication → Send SMS from your own phone, every text to a Tanzanian customer goes out from it: voucher codes, expiry warnings, PPPoE reminders and receipts, and login codes. If the phone is asleep the text waits for it for up to 30 minutes; if it still has not gone, you are told.
12 October 2026

Choose which customers get WhatsApp

  • Communication → WhatsApp delivery now has Send WhatsApp to: All customers, PPPoE customers only, or Hotspot customers only. Customers left out still receive every message by SMS, exactly as before.
11 October 2026

Show your voucher agents on the WiFi login page

  • Settings → Agents → Edit lets you change an agent's name, email and phone, and switch on Show on the WiFi login page. Customers then see "Need a voucher? Buy from an agent near you" with the agent's name and number, which they can tap to call.
  • Choose All routers or only the routers at that agent's site. Every agent stays hidden until you switch them on and tick that they agreed to have their number shown.
11 October 2026

Thank your best customers, and see data used this month

  • Top Customers has a Thank customers by SMS button. Pick who to thank, edit the message ({name} and {business} are filled in for each customer), check the count and cost, then send. Nobody gets the same thank-you twice in a day.
  • Analytics shows data used this month: the total, and how much each customer used, with every code they bought added together under their phone number.
  • If you have more than one router, Send announcement lets you choose which site it goes to, so one site's notice only reaches that site's customers.
11 October 2026

Payments date range, and a warning when your SMS phone stops sending

  • Payments has a From and To date. Pick any days to see the total collected and the number of payments.
  • If you send texts from your own phone and it stops sending (bundle finished, no airtime or no signal), you get an SMS and an app notification telling you to top it up. Until then your customers' texts go out on your SMS credit.
  • When a customer's package runs out while your router is down, compensation now gives them back the time they lost and their code works again.
6 October 2026

PPPoE and Static IP open into their pages from the menu

  • PPPoE in the menu now opens into Customers, Online now, Expiring soon, Plans, Leads, Router sync and Profiles, and Static IP into Customers, Plans and Setup, just like Hotspot. The pages themselves have not changed.
6 October 2026

Find Vouchers, Packages and Sessions straight from the menu

  • Hotspot in the menu now opens into its pages: Overview, Sessions, Vouchers, Packages, Portal design, Hotspot settings and Setup. Tap one to go straight there. The counts beside them are the same as on the Hotspot page.
  • The Hotspot page itself has not changed, and its tabs work exactly as before. The menu remembers whether you left the list open.
6 October 2026

Tanzania: send announcements from your own phone

  • Communication → Send announcement now works for Tanzanian ISPs. Pair your phone with the Sender app (Settings → SMS) and your announcement goes to your hotspot customers from your own SIM. No SMS credit is used.
  • Your phone sends 25 messages every 30 minutes so the SIM is not blocked for bulk sending, and voucher codes always go first. The page shows how many have been sent and has a Stop button for the rest.
2 October 2026

My Network: watch your network flow live

  • On My Network, dots now run along the lines from your router down to each port and access point. The more data is flowing, the faster they move, and a line with no traffic stays still.
  • Each port shows how fast it is running right now, for example 5.5 Mbps, both on the ports strip and on the map below it. It refreshes every 30 seconds while the page is open.
2 October 2026

Weekly reminders to customers who have expired

  • Settings → Renewal reminder SMS has a new switch: Keep reminding expired customers once a week. PPPoE customers who have not renewed get your reminder message once a week, for up to 8 weeks, with "expired since" and the date.
  • It stops as soon as the customer pays, and never goes to customers you have suspended. It is off until you switch it on, and each message uses 1 SMS credit.
1 October 2026

Free WiFi: give everyone free internet with one switch

  • Hotspot → Setup has a new Free WiFi card. Pick the router and for how long — 1, 3, 6 or 24 hours, or until you switch it off — and everyone browses without a code, for example while your internet line has problems.
  • The login page switches back on by itself when the time is up, even if your router loses its connection to us. A red warning shows on every page while WiFi is free, with a Start charging again button.
  • Customers who had paid get the free time added back to their codes automatically when charging starts again.
30 September 2026

Agents: people who sell your vouchers, with their own login

  • Settings → Agents lets you add the people who sell your vouchers. Each gets their own sign-in and lands on a simple page where they choose a package, generate codes and print them — 20 per page or large cards.
  • Agents cannot see your customers, routers, payments or settings. Every code they make is marked with their name.
  • For each agent you see what they sold this month and all time, and the commission you owe at the percentage you set. A code counts as sold when a customer first connects with it.
29 September 2026

Voucher sales now have their own box on Payments

  • Payments shows a Voucher sales box for the codes you generate and sell yourself: what you sold today, in the last 7 days and this month, and a View records list of every code — when it was sold, its package, router and value.
  • A code counts as sold when a customer first connects with it. Because that cash never passes through VunaFlow, the box stands on its own and is never added to your M-Pesa totals.
29 September 2026

Voucher printing: no more duplicate pages, and a compact 20-per-page layout

  • Printing vouchers could repeat the same cards page after page with blank tails — the print now produces a clean sheet with each code exactly once, on desktop and in the app alike.
  • The print window also gained a Card size choice: Large (the classic ~6 per A4 with connection steps) or Compact (20+ per A4 — brand, plan, code, password and expiry only), and it remembers your choice.
29 September 2026

Cash sales from your own printed codes now show up

  • If you generate vouchers and sell them by hand for cash, those sales were invisible on the dashboard. Hotspot → Overview now shows how many of your manual codes customers started today, with an estimated value based on each code's package price.
  • The estimate is deliberately kept apart from your M-Pesa figures: cash never passes through VunaFlow, so gateway revenue stays strictly verified money, exactly as before.
29 September 2026

AfriqorePay: a second payment gateway for Tanzania

  • Tanzanian ISPs can now collect customer payments through AfriqorePay — M-Pesa (Vodacom), Airtel Money, Tigo Pesa (Mixx) and HaloPesa in one integration, with the payment prompt sent straight to the customer's phone. Choose it under Settings → Who collects your money and enter your own App ID and passkey, so the money settles to your account.
  • Like every gateway, it must prove itself before customers see it: a real TZS 1000 test payment to your own phone turns it on. Webhooks are signature-checked, and every payment is re-verified server-to-server before anyone is credited.
29 September 2026

Free devices: your own people connect without vouchers

  • On Hotspot → Setup you can now whitelist a device — your technician's phone, your own laptop, a family device. It connects on your hotspot with no voucher and no pay page, on all your routers, until you remove it. No more issuing yourself codes that make the books look untidy.
  • Every free device carries a name and a reason, written on the router itself, so anyone looking always knows why that device never pays. The list is capped at 20, and adds and removals appear in Logs.
29 September 2026

Name every access point in one tap

  • On My Network → Add devices, the scan now offers “These are my APs — name all”: every box it can see gets a findable name at once (like “AP ether2 .10” — the port and address tell you which physical box it is). You still review the names and press Save, and you can rename any box later.
  • Why bother: a named access point gets its own revenue line (which of your APs actually earns) and its own alarm when it goes down. Boxes you never name are left alone — only named boxes are watched.
27 September 2026

Old, finished codes are cleared off your routers every night

  • If you run more than one router, every code you sell is put on all of them, and codes that ran out stayed on each router for ever, slowing it down. Each night VunaFlow now removes codes that finished more than a day ago.
  • Unused codes, codes someone is using right now and users you created yourself on the router are never touched. You will see a line in Logs when codes are cleared.
26 September 2026

See which PPPoE customers have hit their fair use

  • The PPPoE customer list has a new Fair use column for anyone with fair use: “13.4 of 50 GB today”, amber when they pass 80%, and Slowed (with their slower speed) once they reach the allowance.
  • It reads the same meter that slows them down, so the list and the router always agree. The column only appears if you have set fair use on a plan or a customer.
26 September 2026

Your VunaFlow subscription now runs to the same date next month

  • Pay on the 27th and your router or account runs until the 27th of next month, at the same time of day. Before, every payment added 30 days, so a payment on 27 August ended on 26 September.
  • Paying for several months at once moves the date by that many calendar months. In a month without that date (paying on the 31st), it ends on the last day of the shorter month.
26 September 2026

Compare this month with last month on Payments

  • Payments now shows a Last month box beside This month: everything you collected last month, and underneath, what you had collected by the same day last month, so on the 25th you compare the 1st to the 25th with the 1st to the 25th.
  • Revenue by router (when you run more than one router) can now show This month and Last month as well as rolling days.
26 September 2026

Customers can open your customer app to buy more, even when their package has run out

  • Your customer app (yourname.vunaflow.co.ke) now opens on your WiFi before the customer logs in, so someone whose data has finished can buy the next package there instead of hunting for the login page. It reaches each router on its next Deploy Portal. Asked for by Michael Some.
  • The customer app no longer lists the build-your-own bundles customers created at the login page (for example “Bundle 100 MB · 1 hour”). Only your own packages show, exactly as on the login page.
  • Switching how you collect money back to Platform M-Pesa (the gateway card, or “Use my till instead”) now shows a box for the 6-digit code we email you. Before, the page said “Saved” but had nowhere to type the code, so the switch never happened.
25 September 2026

Set fair use for one PPPoE customer

  • Open a PPPoE customer, press Edit details, and under Fair use choose Same as plan, Custom or None. Custom gives that customer their own allowance and slower speed, reset every day at midnight or when they renew. None exempts them. Everyone else stays on the plan's fair use. Asked for by Kennedy Maina.
  • A customer with their own slower speed gets their own speed profile on the router, so changing one customer never changes anyone else's speed.
25 September 2026

Start a PPPoE customer's internet on a date you choose

  • When you renew or activate a PPPoE customer, the confirmation now asks when their internet starts: Now, or On a date. Pick the date and time and confirm. The payment is recorded straight away, the customer shows as Scheduled with their start time, and their internet switches on by itself when the time comes, within about 15 minutes.
  • When their internet switches on, the customer gets an SMS: “Your internet is now active, paid until …”. It is sent only once the router has actually switched them on, so nobody is told they are connected while their router is offline.
  • The paid period counts from the start date, not from the day you entered them, so nobody loses days. If they pay again by M-Pesa before the start, the extra period is added and they still start on the date you set.
25 September 2026

Revenue per router on Analytics, and clear failed payment attempts

  • Analytics now shows revenue by router when you run more than one: completed sales and money per router, for today, yesterday, or the last 7, 30, 90 or 365 days. Asked for by John Mwakyoma.
  • On Payments, open Failed and press Clear failed to hide failed attempts older than a day, so your list shows real sales. Nothing is deleted: they stay on record for disputes, and Show cleared brings them back. Asked for by John Mwakyoma.
25 September 2026

Daily fair use on PPPoE, your own downtime SMS, and a clearer My Network button

  • PPPoE plans can now give each customer a daily allowance: set fair use, for example 100 GB then 2M/1M, and choose “every day at midnight”. Only the heavy user slows down, and full speed comes back at midnight. Asked for by Kennedy Maina.
  • Fair use also counts correctly across a renewal: a customer who was online when their plan renewed no longer starts the new month with their old session's data already counted.
  • The SMS customers get when you compensate an outage is now yours to write, in Communication → Voucher SMS, with English and Kiswahili ready to pick. Asked for by John Mwakyoma.
  • The dashboard is lighter on the server: the check that ends finished hotspot codes now reads only the codes of people connected at that moment, instead of every code you have ever sold, every two minutes. Pages like Logs and online customers should load faster. Reported by Kennedy Maina.
  • On My Network, the button for a device that is not one of your access points now reads “Hide — not my AP”. It is something you choose, not something VunaFlow decided about the box.
24 September 2026

Outage compensation pays only the customers who were actually cut off

  • Compensating an outage now checks that each customer was online, or had paid, while the router was down. A code bought after the router came back, or one that had already run out before it went down, is no longer extended. Before, an old outage compensated later could hand a day of free time to customers who never saw it.
  • Add Hotspot on one port now finishes on its own on newer RouterOS (7.2x), which refuses one optional cookie setting. The hotspot profile is created without that setting instead of failing, and the note on the result says so.
  • Deploy on a router with a hotspot lane (Add Hotspot on a VLAN or on one port) now updates the lane's hotspot too: new packages and portal settings reach it on every Deploy, not only when the lane was first created. Your PPPoE customers stay untouched, as before.
  • Own-phone SMS: when you re-send many codes at once, your phone is given time to work through them. A message is only taken over to credit after your phone has gone quiet, and a number credit cannot reach (outside Kenya) is left with the phone for 30 minutes instead of being marked failed after 5.
24 September 2026

A privacy notice on your login page, and connection records kept 90 days

  • Your customers' login page now has a small Privacy link under the support line. It opens a two-line notice saying their phone number and device address are used only to connect them and record the purchase, are shared only with you, and that connection records are deleted after 90 days. In Kiswahili too where your portal is. It reaches your routers on your next Deploy Portal.
  • Connection session records (device address, IP, data used) are now deleted automatically 90 days after the session was last seen, the same way system logs already are. Purchases, vouchers and payment records are not touched.
  • The Terms now spell out that for your subscribers you are the data controller and we are your processor: we use their data only to run the service for you, show it only to you, tell you within 48 hours of any breach, and delete or return it when you leave. This is the paperwork the Data Protection Act asks of both of us.
24 September 2026

Tap a port on My Network to put it on the hotspot or switch it off

  • Every socket on the ports strip can now be tapped. "Use this port for" offers Hotspot, which moves the port into your hotspot so anyone plugged into it gets the login page, and Off or On for a port nobody is using.
  • The router decides what is safe: your internet port and any port carrying PPPoE customers are locked with the reason shown, a port with people on it cannot be switched off, and the last port of your hotspot cannot be removed. Devices on a port you move get a new address, and the sheet says so first.
  • You see what will happen and confirm it. Nothing is written to the router until you press the button, and the strip shows the router's own answer straight after.
24 September 2026

Add Hotspot on one port of a PPPoE router

  • Add Hotspot now asks where the hotspot should run. "Everywhere on your customer network" is what it did before. The new choice, "On one port only", makes a separate hotspot lane on a single port you pick, so you can plug a hotspot access point into, say, port 4 and leave the rest of the router alone.
  • The picker shows every port with its cable state and the network it sits in today. Your internet port and any port carrying PPPoE customers are greyed out with the reason, so the fibre side cannot be touched by mistake. Devices on the chosen port move to the hotspot network.
  • Preview shows the plan first and nothing is written until you press Apply. Asked for by Univas Networks and Brian Kariuki.
23 September 2026

Promotion and notice times are now a 24-hour clock

  • The Starts and Ends fields on a promotion and on a portal notice used to open your phone's own date-and-time dialog, which showed AM and PM whenever the phone was set that way. They now show a date, an hour from 00 to 23 and the minute, the same on a phone as on a computer.
  • Nothing you had saved has moved: an existing time shows exactly as it was, and a blank field still means now, or until you switch it off.
22 September 2026

See which of your router's ports are working

  • My Network now draws the back of each router: one socket per port, in the order they sit on the box. Green means the cable link is up, a dashed socket means no cable, a faded one means the port is switched off. The router's own WiFi shows as a port too.
  • Under each working port you see what it is for — the internet side or your network — the boxes you have named on it, how many customers are online through it, and whether the link has been dropping since the router last booted. Hover a port for its lifetime traffic.
  • Everything is read from the router itself every 15 minutes, never guessed. If a router has not been read, the strip says so and when it was last read.
22 September 2026

WhatsApp-only packages now deliver the chat, not just the pictures

  • A customer on a WhatsApp-only package could open the app, see it say connecting, and never receive a message, while profile pictures and media loaded. WhatsApp's chat does not use the normal web encryption our filter reads the app's name from, so the chat servers were never let through.
  • The router now learns WhatsApp's servers from the customer's own DNS lookups as well, so messages, calls and media all go through. TikTok and YouTube packages were never affected.
  • It reaches your router the next time someone buys a WhatsApp package. To have it now, generate one voucher for that package from Vouchers; that installs it too. Routers on RouterOS older than 7.6 cannot do this, and the log will say so.
21 September 2026

Your SMS phone now works on your own WiFi, with no data bundle

  • If you use your own phone to send voucher texts, you can now leave it connected to your own hotspot WiFi and switch mobile data off. It does not need a voucher and it does not need to log in: the phone reaches us through the same always-open road your customers use to see the packages and pay.
  • Before this, Android saw the login page, decided the WiFi had no internet, and sent the app over mobile data. With no bundle on the SIM the texts simply waited.
  • To get it, download the sender again from the card called Send SMS from your own phone, and install it over the old one. Your pairing is kept, there is nothing to set up again. The text itself still leaves through your SIM, so keep an SMS bundle on it.
21 September 2026

Deploy no longer piles duplicate rules onto your router

  • Every Deploy was adding the same four allow-rules for M-Pesa and the login page to your router again, instead of noticing they were already there. On a busy router that pile grew into the hundreds, and the router walked through all of it every time a phone was sent to the login page. One router had 176 copies of 4 rules and sat at full processor load with nine customers on it.
  • Deploy now sees the rules that are already there and leaves them alone, so the list stays at the handful it should be.
  • The copies already on routers are being cleaned up from our side. Nothing you need to do, and nothing about how your customers connect or pay changes.
20 September 2026

One card now says who collects your money

  • Payments, then Setup, used to show two cards with almost the same name, both called Payment gateway. One had company logos, the other a dropdown that listed Tanzanian services a Kenyan ISP can never use. There is now one card, called Who collects your money, and it shows only what applies to your country.
  • Those logos are payment companies, not the banks we accept. The card now says so in a line of its own: any Kenyan bank can receive your money — Equity, Co-op, KCB, NCBA, Family, DTB and 26 others — and you choose yours under Where money goes, lower on the same page, together with the account number the bank credits.
  • The KCB tile is gone. It could never be selected, it was only on display, and it was being read as one of the few ways we accept payment. It comes back when it actually works.
  • Nothing about how your money is collected has changed. Whatever you are on today, till, paybill, bank or your own keys, is exactly as you left it.
20 September 2026

Sell unlimited without cutting anyone off: fair use

  • Every hotspot package, PPPoE plan and Static IP plan now has a Fair use box. Put an allowance in it — say 10 GB — and a slower speed to follow, say 1M/1M. A customer who finishes the allowance is not cut off and does not have to buy again: they carry on at the slower speed until their package ends. It is how the word unlimited can be honest.
  • It is off everywhere until you fill it in. Leave both boxes empty and nothing about that package changes. Put fair use on one package and the rest are untouched; clear the two boxes and it is off again.
  • On hotspot the allowance belongs to the code, so every code a customer buys starts fresh. On PPPoE and Static IP it runs for the month and starts again when they renew — a customer who disconnects and dials in again keeps their running total, so reconnecting is not a way to get a fresh allowance.
  • Your customer is told why, in plain words, on their own page: how much of the allowance is left, and once they are past it, that they have used their 10 GB, are connected at 1M/1M instead of full speed, and that full speed comes back when they renew or buy again. Nobody has to ring you to ask why the internet feels slow.
  • A data cap and fair use are not the same thing. A cap ends the session; fair use keeps the customer online, slower. If a package has both, fair use is what happens.
19 September 2026

My Network tidies itself, and one router's outage no longer pays every customer

  • You can now remove an access point from My Network. Each card has a Remove button — for a box you have unplugged, sold, or that a scan picked up and was never yours. If it is still on the network, the next scan finds it again.
  • A box that has been offline for more than a week now steps aside by itself, into a short list at the bottom of the page headed as treated as removed, where you can bring it back or remove it for good. What the page calls your attention to is what is wrong today, not something you unplugged last month. A box on a router that is itself offline is left where it is — we cannot tell that it is gone, only that we cannot see it.
  • Outage compensation now pays only the customers it should. If you run more than one router and one of them went down, customers on your other routers were being credited too. Compensation is now matched to the router the customer paid on, and a payment we cannot tie to a router is left out rather than credited everywhere.
  • If a router is factory reset it loses its PPPoE customers and their speed profiles together. The rescue that puts paid customers back online used to stop when the profile was gone; it now rebuilds it from the plan. Four paid customers on one network sat offline for a day because of this.
19 September 2026

A month written as "1M" is now caught when you save

  • The voucher SMS is now yours to word. Under Hotspot, then Setup, the Voucher SMS card has a Message template box: write it in English, Swahili or anything else, and drop in {code}, {password}, {duration}, {support} and {business} where you want them. A preview shows exactly what a buyer will read. Leave it untouched and nothing changes. The Manage link and the "no new charge" line on a resent code are still added for you.
  • In a package duration, a small m means minutes, so "1M" was being read as one minute — a KSh 600 monthly package would have cut the customer off after sixty seconds. Saving a duration written that way now stops with a plain explanation and the spelling to use instead: "30d" or "1month". Nothing else about how you write durations has changed.
18 September 2026

Turning off an app-only restriction now really turns it off

  • A TV is now only offered the packages you actually sell for TVs. Before, the TV screen listed every package, and picking one you had set to phone-only was refused at payment with "Package not found" — which looked like the package had vanished. If none of your packages are set for TVs, the screen now says so instead of showing an empty list. You can change which packages TVs may buy on the Packages page; the ones they cannot are tagged Phone-only.
  • Revenue by router, on the Payments page, now has Today and Yesterday in its dropdown beside the 7, 30 and 90 day views. A day runs midnight to midnight East Africa time, the same as the Collected today figure above it, so the two always agree.
  • If a package was once limited to TikTok, WhatsApp or YouTube and you later removed that limit, the router kept enforcing it: customers on that package could open only those apps and reported "connected but not browsing". The next code sold on the package now clears the old limit on the router, and we have already cleared it on every router where it was found.
17 September 2026

Name the login-page tabs whatever your customers call them

  • Portal Designer now has a TAB NAMES box. The three buttons customers tap — Unlimited, Data bundles, Make your own bundle — can carry your own words instead of ours.
  • Leave a box empty and it keeps our wording, which still switches to Kiswahili on a Swahili portal. A name you type is shown to every customer in any language, because a local word is the word you mean — we will not translate it away.
  • Up to 24 characters each, so the tab bar still fits on a phone. The preview beside the form updates as you type; press Deploy to put it on your routers.
16 September 2026

Extending a customer by a day or more now asks you twice

  • On the Vouchers page, the +1 day, +3 days, +7 days and +30 days buttons now turn into a Confirm button on the first tap and only add the time on the second. Sessions already worked this way. One slip of the thumb on a phone used to hand a KSh 5 customer a whole month.
  • Under Time left, a code that has more time than its package now says why: "Extended by you: +30 days on 14 Sep", or "+44 min outage compensation". If a code was extended before today, when no record was kept, it says that too instead of showing a month with no explanation.
  • Every extension is now kept in its own record, separate from your logs, so Clear logs no longer removes the history of who was given time and when. Clearing your logs also leaves one line behind saying it happened.
12 September 2026

Your hotspot now has one page, like PPPoE and Static IP

  • There is a new Hotspot page in the menu, under Customers. Everything to do with your hotspot is on it: who is connected right now, your vouchers, your packages, your login page and notices, and the hotspot settings. Five tabs instead of hunting across six separate pages.
  • Nothing moved out of your reach. Sessions, Packages, Vouchers, Portal Designer and Notices are all still in the menu exactly where they were, and every link and bookmark still works. The Hotspot page is a second way in, not a replacement.
  • Three settings did move, and they are the ones worth knowing about: Voucher SMS, the hotspot expiry SMS and Loyalty Points now live on Hotspot → Setup instead of in Settings — beside the packages and login page they actually configure. Every value you had is exactly as you left it, and Settings carries a notice with a button that takes you straight there.
  • If you only sell PPPoE or Static IP, you will not see a Hotspot page at all. It appears by itself the moment you create your first hotspot package or voucher.
  • One fix that goes with it: a setting you switched off could switch itself back on. If you turned off Voucher SMS, Loyalty or the expiry SMS and then pressed Save Settings for something unrelated, the old value was written back and the screen said "Settings saved". That cannot happen any more — each part of Settings now saves only its own fields.
10 September 2026

Ask — a question about your own account, answered from your own records

  • There is a new Ask button at the top of the menu, above your pages. Type a question — "is my router online", "did my customer get their voucher", "why didn't my customer get an SMS", "is my package speed actually on the router" — and the answer is read from your own account, right then.
  • Every answer shows its evidence: the exact rows and times it was built from, listed underneath. You can check it rather than take our word for it.
  • It will not guess. When your records do not contain the answer it says so plainly and offers one button, Ask a person, which opens a thread carrying your question and everything it did find, so whoever replies starts where it stopped instead of asking you to explain again. Anything about money goes straight to a person.
  • It only reads. Ask never suspends, deploys, refunds or edits anything on your account — at most it tells you which button to press.
9 September 2026

The screen no longer tells you something worked when it did not

  • When you suspend, restore, renew or change the plan of a customer and your router cannot be reached at that moment, the screen used to turn green as though it had worked. It did not: the customer was still online. From today those actions come back amber and say so plainly — "Saved here, but the router did not get it — the customer is still online" — with the reason, and the same line lands in your Logs as a warning you can find later.
  • Your money is never in doubt. A renewal still records the payment and still moves the expiry date; what the message now tells you is whether the speed reached the router. Blocking a device tells you how many of your routers took the block, and saving a package tells you if any router did not get its speed profile.
  • Nothing your customers experience has changed. This only changes what we tell you.
  • Paying us: your PPPoE and Static IP fees are now listed as separate lines when you renew, each with its own date, and you can untick any you would rather pay for later. Before this, renewing your hotspot quietly charged you for PPPoE too whenever it fell due within the month — even if it still had weeks left.
9 September 2026

Send the codes your customers never received

  • When your SMS balance runs out, the customers who paid in that time never get their code. Until now there was no way to send it afterwards. The red warning on your Dashboard now carries a Send the missed codes button, which appears once you have topped up or connected your sender phone.
  • It only sends to customers whose time has not run out yet. Anyone whose package already ended is deliberately left alone — texting a code that no longer works only sends them back to you. The result tells you how many went out and how many were left for that reason.
8 September 2026

Sell passes for single apps, price by what you earn, and longer validity finally costs something

  • You can now sell a pass that reaches only WhatsApp, TikTok or YouTube. Tick "Only certain apps" on any package. It is the cheapest thing a new customer will buy, and the one they climb from — price it under your full-internet package of the same length or nobody takes it.
  • Build-your-own bundles: the same money now buys less data the longer it must stay alive — an hour at the full rate, a day at 80%, a week at 60%, a month at half. Until today a week of validity was free. Each length shows what it gives before the customer picks, and one tick in the setup turns it off.
  • The package form tells you what you are earning: what a data bundle makes per GB, and what a time package makes an hour, with one tap to take the suggested price. Nothing you already sell was changed.
  • Your package list now shows offers first, the same order your customers see on the login page.
8 September 2026

Packages sold only at set hours stay on the page, locked, with a countdown

  • A package with 'Available only at certain hours' no longer disappears outside those hours. Customers see it with COMING SOON, the hours it opens, and a countdown that ticks down to the minute; it unlocks by itself when the time comes. Use it to sell a package people will pay MORE for at that hour — an all-night pass, a match-day pass — and let the countdown bring them back.
  • Notices you post now show on the login page. A layout fault had stopped every notice from drawing; press Deploy Portal once so your router gets the corrected page.
8 September 2026

Notices on the login page with a preview, and promotional packages

  • Notices has its own page in the sidebar, under Network. Tell customers about maintenance, a line problem or a change: pick a template, choose how it shows (a bar, a popup or the whole screen), set when it starts and ends, and it leaves by itself. English and Kiswahili templates.
  • Preview on the login page shows the notice on your real login page, in a phone frame, before you post it. Change the words or the style and the preview follows.
  • A package can now run as a promotion: only on chosen days of the week, between two times of day, between two dates, or until a number of sales. The point is urgency at your normal price — "Only 8 left" or "Ends in 2h" sells without cutting anything. A crossed-out was-price is optional, and best used on a bigger package you want customers to move up to.
7 September 2026

Build-your-own bundles, SMS from your own phone, and paying months ahead

  • Customers can build their own bundle on the login page: they pick the data and validity they can afford, from a minimum you set, and pay the quoted price. Switch it on from Packages.
  • Voucher texts can go out from your own phone. Install the small sender app on a spare phone, tap Connect, and texts use your own SIM bundle. Settings shows every text, when it was sent, to whom and whether it was delivered.
  • You can pay for 3, 6 or 12 months at once. One M-Pesa prompt, and the expiry moves the whole way.
  • Bank paybill customers with long account numbers are no longer rejected. The whole account number now goes to the bank.
5 September 2026

Money on My Network, and a device lock that lets paying customers back in

  • My Network now shows what each access point earns. A summary line sits above the map and every access point card carries its own sales for the week, the month or all time — tap any amount to switch. Access points sharing one router port are shown as a group, and sales we could not place on a box are listed underneath so the total still matches your Dashboard. Counting starts from 5 September; earlier sales are not placed on a box.
  • Voucher locking has a second mode. Strict is unchanged: the first device keeps the voucher for life. Flexible allows one device at a time: the lock releases on its own once the locked device has been off the network for 30 minutes, or at once when another phone is refused while the locked one is not online, so a customer whose phone changed its private WiFi address is never locked out of time they own. Choose the mode per package; all Tanzanian packages are now flexible.
  • Every locked voucher now shows as locked on the Vouchers page with an Unlock button, including locks that were only ever on the router.
5 September 2026

Customers can sign in with their phone number, and the PPPoE edit form is whole again

  • The customer portal sign-in now accepts either the account number or the customer’s phone number, written any way. If you tell customers their account is their phone, the login text we send them now works exactly as sent — it used to be refused.
  • Edit details on a PPPoE customer shows the Expiry date and Price for this customer fields again. They had been hidden since 1 September.
  • Saving a customer’s name, phone or login no longer moves their expiry. Saves used to reset the expiry to midnight, cutting some customers off hours early; now the expiry only changes when you change the date, and a changed date keeps the customer’s usual time of day.
5 September 2026

Cleaner starts for new accounts, a truer network picture, and honest deploy errors

  • New accounts start in code-only voucher mode, so customers type one code instead of a code and a password. Existing accounts keep whatever they have set.
  • A re-deploy can no longer leave your router showing MikroTik’s own login page. If the router’s hotspot was left pointing at a deleted profile, Deploy now repairs it and says so in the deploy log.
  • No login page offers a free trial unless you have added a Free Trial package. A router’s built-in trial is switched off when you have none, and a page built before you removed a trial now hides it on its own.
  • My Network no longer calls a bridged access point “Router mode” just because it announces a factory address like 192.168.0.1 while the phones behind it are on your hotspot. A box that comes back under a new hardware address is recognised by its port and address and keeps its name instead of appearing as a second box.
  • A failed portal deploy now tells you why — a timeout, a busy router, an upload that never finished — instead of “File *: failed”.
5 September 2026

We can now message you on your Feedback page

  • When we find something on your site that you should know about — a setting that is dropping your customers, a router swap that left paying customers behind — we can now open a conversation with you on your Feedback page. It shows as a message from us, lights the same badge a reply does, and you answer on the thread as usual.
  • Nothing changes about how you send feedback to us.
4 September 2026

Replacing a router no longer cuts off customers who have already paid

  • When you archive a router, every customer still inside their paid time now moves to your remaining router automatically, so they stay connected on the code they already have. Before, their code stayed on the box you retired: they were told “invalid username or password” and many simply paid again for days they had already bought.
  • If you have no other router, or more than one, we do not guess. The archive is recorded and you get a note naming the customers still owed time, so you can decide where they should go.
4 September 2026

Customers who move between access points reconnect at once

  • When a customer walks from one access point to another and gets the login page again, “Already paid → Reconnect” with their M-Pesa code now connects them immediately. Before, it refused with “voucher already in use” for up to five minutes while their old connection timed out — and many simply paid again.
  • Why they see the login page at all: phones use a different private address on every WiFi name. If your access points have different names, a customer's phone looks like a new device on each one. Give every access point the SAME WiFi name and password, keep them in AP or bridge mode with DHCP off, and customers stay connected across your whole site without touching the portal.
1 September 2026

Stop voucher sharing: lock a voucher to its first device

  • A shared voucher code can no longer feed the whole street. When you tick “Lock voucher to the first device that uses it” on a package, every voucher sold from it is tied — within about two minutes of first use — to the first phone that logged in. Every other device that tries the same code is refused by the router itself, and any freeloaders already on are disconnected the moment the lock lands.
  • It is off everywhere until you turn it on, package by package. Leave it off for family packages meant to be shared across devices — the lock allows exactly ONE device, so it belongs on your one-person packages.
  • If a genuine customer changes phones mid-voucher, delete their voucher and issue a fresh one — the new code locks to the new phone on first use.
1 September 2026

Custom vouchers for customers you bring from another system

  • You can now generate a voucher with ANY duration — no package needed. On Vouchers → Generate, pick “Custom duration”, type the time exactly (13d, 36h, 13d12h) and optionally a speed. Built for migrations: customers arriving from another billing system keep exactly the days they already paid for, instead of being forced into your package sizes.
  • Behind the scenes each custom duration becomes a hidden package — it never appears on your login page and cannot be bought, but expiry, extending and reconnect all work on these vouchers exactly like normal ones.
1 September 2026

App-only packages, packages per router, and a designer that shows the truth

  • You can now sell packages for ONE app — TikTok only, WhatsApp only, YouTube only, or a mix. A cheap “TikTok + WhatsApp, all day” package reaches customers who would never pay for full internet, without touching what your full packages earn. The router itself enforces it: traffic to the chosen apps flows, everything else — including the tricks apps use to sneak around filters — is stopped. Works on RouterOS 6.47 and newer; on an older router the package still sells and delivers as normal internet rather than failing your customer.
  • Packages can now belong to a specific router. If you run more than one site, a package can be sold at one of them or all of them — set it when creating or editing the package. Each site's login page shows only what is sold there, and a voucher can only be used where its package is sold.
  • The Portal Designer now shows your REAL login page. Every design card is your actual portal — your name, your packages, your prices — rendered in that design, not an artist's sketch. What you pick is exactly what customers see.
1 September 2026

Renewals that land, and a phone number as the account number

  • A payment fault on bank paybills is fixed — if your renewals were failing, this was why. On a bank paybill (KCB, Co-op and the like) the “Account no.” on the M-Pesa prompt is the bank account being credited. PPPoE and Static IP renewals were sending the CUSTOMER’s account number in that field, so the bank had nothing to credit and quietly reversed the money — while everything on screen said paid. Renewal prompts now always carry your own account number on a bank paybill. If a renewal of yours “completed” but the money never arrived, check that payment with your bank.
  • Your renewal SMS now names the paybill your money actually lands on. If you once set up your own M-Pesa app and later moved to platform collection, reminders kept quoting the old shortcode — customers following the SMS by hand were paying a number that no longer collects for you. The SMS now always matches where the prompt sends the money.
  • Customers who pay by paybill can now be matched by their PHONE NUMBER. Until today a customer who typed their own phone as the account reference went unmatched and you had to reconcile that money by hand. Now 07…, 2547… and +254… all find the right customer and renew them automatically. Your account numbers, usernames and customer names all still work exactly as before.
  • If you collect on your OWN paybill, you can make the phone number official. Settings → “What customers use as their account number” — choose their phone, and the welcome SMS, every reminder and the M-Pesa prompt tell customers to simply use the number they already know. Both references keep working whichever you choose, so switching can never lose a payment. (On a bank paybill this setting stays out of the way — there the account field must remain your bank account.)
  • PPPoE customer editing grew up. The full-details window now lets you change everything — including the PPPoE username and password, which used to require deleting and recreating the customer. The router is updated first and the record only follows if it accepted, so a customer can never be left with a login their router does not know. Renames take effect immediately.
1 September 2026

Sell data bundles — 2GB instead of 2 hours

  • You can now sell by DATA, not only by time. When you create or edit a package there is a new question at the top: “What are you selling?” — Unlimited, or Data bundle. Choose Data bundle, type a size like 2GB or 500MB, and that is what your customer gets. The router itself cuts them off at exactly that size, so the limit is real rather than a promise in the package name.
  • Your customers see a “Data bundles” tab on the WiFi login page, next to “Unlimited”. Bundles carry a green badge and read “2 GB · valid 7 days · 1 device”, so nobody buys 2GB thinking they bought 2 hours. The tabs appear ONLY if you sell both kinds — if you have no data bundles, your login page is exactly as it is today, unchanged.
  • The time you set becomes how long the bundle stays valid. A 2GB bundle valid 7 days ends when the data runs out OR the week does, whichever comes first — and the field renames itself from “Duration” to “Valid for” so it is clear which job the time is doing.
  • If you already put GB in a package NAME, this is worth ten minutes of your time. Packages called things like “12.5GB for 24Hrs” or “50GB” only ever enforced the hours — a customer could use far more data than the name promised and nothing stopped them. Set the size on those packages and the cap becomes real.
  • Your customers can see what is left. The portal shows a bundle’s remaining data as it is used, and warns when it is nearly finished so they can buy again before they are cut off.
  • Nothing changes for anyone who does not set a size. Every existing package stays exactly as it is — unlimited data for its duration — until you deliberately choose Data bundle on it.
  • Also fixed: the Active Sessions list now shows the newest customer at the top, in the order people connected. It had no order at all before, so with more than one router the person who just joined could appear anywhere in the list.

Your own SMS name, and a text when your site goes dark

  • Voucher texts can now be sent under YOUR name. If you have your own BlessedTexts account, go to Settings → “Use your own BlessedTexts account”, enter your API key and your approved sender name, and send the test message — it goes to your own phone. Once it arrives you can switch over: your customers’ messages then go out branded as you, billed to your BlessedTexts account, and your VunaFlow SMS balance stops being spent. Switch back any time. Nothing changes unless you set this up.
  • If your whole site goes offline for more than an hour, we now text you. One message per outage — it names the router, says how long it has been dark, and reminds you that selling restarts on its own once it reconnects and that nobody is charged while it is down. No repeats, no nagging: the alert re-arms only after your site comes back. We found operators who had been dark for over a week without knowing; that should never happen silently again.
  • The deep scan now finds access points still on their factory address. Many APs ship on 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 and installers rarely change it — those sat in a corner of your network the scan never probed, so a working box could stay invisible. It is probed now. And two identical APs left on the SAME factory address used to appear as one box; each now shows up separately. If a box still does not appear after a deep scan, it is genuinely not talking — check its power and cable.
  • Signing in got two fixes. If you signed up by email but have been using “Continue with Google”, your email now counts as verified automatically — a handful of operators were locked out of the mobile app over a verification link from months ago. And if you are ever asked to verify, the sign-in screen now offers “Send me a new verification link” instead of pointing you at an email that expired long ago.
31 August 2026

A weekend of sharp edges filed off

  • Live Sessions no longer vanishes while you watch it. The list refreshed every 15 seconds, and each refresh replaced it with a loading spinner for several seconds — on a busy router you could barely read it. It now updates in place: same freshness, no flicker.
  • Package speeds now take any value. Next to each speed slider there is a box where you type the exact Mbps — 6, 15, whatever you sell. The slider stays for quick picks. The labels also carry ↑ and ↓ so upload and download cannot be mixed up.
  • Editing a package no longer quietly resets a custom speed. If a package carried a speed that was not on the slider steps, opening it to change the price used to rewrite the speed to 1M/2M on save. Custom values now survive editing exactly as set.
  • If your site is turning buyers away, you now get a text about it. When your router is unreachable, we refuse to take customers' money — that part has always been true. What is new: within minutes, an SMS tells you which router is down and how many buyers were turned away, so you hear it from us and not from an angry customer. Selling resumes on its own the moment the router reconnects.
  • Customers were being logged out with “unknown user profile” after package changes — fixed. Renaming or deleting a package could remove the router profile that customers who had already paid still needed, cutting them off with no way back in. A profile any paid voucher still points at is now left in place.
  • Busy routers got faster. A housekeeping bug had been quietly duplicating firewall entries on every deploy — the busiest routers carried hundreds of copies and some were pinned at 100% CPU, which is also why a few of you saw voucher creation time out. Over two thousand duplicates were removed across the fleet, and the bug that created them is gone.
  • Onboarding no longer touches WiFi that is not the hotspot's. If your router also carries a private WPA2 network, connecting it to VunaFlow used to open that network's security along with the hotspot's. Now only SSIDs on the hotspot's own bridge are opened; anything else keeps its password, and the deploy log says so.
  • Older RouterOS 6 routers can now receive the captive portal. On some ROS6 devices reachable only through the management tunnel, every portal deploy failed — the router simply could not be given the login page. The installer now uses a route that works on those devices, in about a second.
  • Tanzanian operators now see Tanzania, end to end. Prices across the dashboard, the lock screen and your customers' portal show TSh, not KSh; Kenyan-only sections (M-Pesa till, SMS, KRA compliance) no longer appear on Tanzanian accounts; and the PalmPesa test payment is TZS 1000 — an amount the mobile wallets actually prompt for.
  • The Routers online number now means something. Nearly two hundred long-dead routers belonging to expired accounts were counted in the totals, so the dashboard permanently read “200 offline” and a real outage drowned. They are archived (any of them can be brought back with one tap), and the number you see now is your living fleet.
27 August 2026

Your renewal SMS now arrives when there is still time to act

  • The "your package is about to run out" text used to go out a fixed 15 minutes before expiry, whatever the package was. On a one-hour package that landed 45 minutes in, and on a half-hour package it landed at the halfway mark — a warning that arrives with half the package still to run is an interruption, not a warning.
  • It now depends on how long the package is: about 4 minutes before a 30-minute package ends, 6 minutes on an hour, 18 minutes on three hours, and a full day before a monthly package. Same one message per customer — nothing extra is sent, and nothing extra is charged.
  • If you switched this text off because it was arriving too early, that reason is gone. You can turn it back on under Settings → "Pre-expiry heads-up SMS".
  • My Network now counts every customer on your network, not only the ones behind an access point you have named. If some are on your router's own WiFi it says so, instead of asking you to go and name a box that does not exist.
  • A box on your internet-facing port is no longer offered as an access point. Naming your uplink router as an AP left it reading "nobody connected" for ever, on hardware that was working perfectly.
  • Scanning missed access points that nothing had spoken to yet — a box in bridge mode with a fixed address is silent until a customer connects through it. There is now a "Missing a box? Look harder" option on the scan that walks your whole network and finds them. It takes about 20 seconds.
  • "Most Popular" on your captive portal now means what it says. It was showing your second-cheapest package on every portal and had never looked at a single sale. It now comes from what your customers actually bought in the last 30 days, and if nothing has sold enough to be sure, no package is badged at all.
  • Changes you save in Portal Designer now reach your routers on their own. Before, the preview changed and your customers kept seeing the old page until someone pressed Deploy.
  • The warning about "devices skipping your login page" was wrong and has been rebuilt. It was comparing two numbers that could not detect what it claimed, and most of the gap was old entries for phones that had already left. If you saw that red box and could not find anything wrong, nothing was wrong. It now looks for the actual signature of an access point left in Router mode, and stays quiet otherwise.
  • Customer usage on a voucher was being recorded against the phone rather than the purchase, so a returning customer's newer vouchers showed zero while the live Sessions page showed them online. Each purchase now keeps its own record. Vouchers bought before today will still read zero — that usage was never recorded against them, and we would rather leave a gap than invent a number.
21 August 2026

See your access points, and know when one dies

  • There is a new My Network tab under Network. It draws your router and the access points behind it, and tells you at a glance which box is down.
  • Start by tapping Scan connected devices. We read what is on your LAN and show you the list. Name only the boxes you recognise — "Gate AP", "Shop 3", "Church" — and tap "Not an AP" on anything that belongs to a customer. You can stop at any point and carry on later.
  • We only watch the boxes you name. Everything else is left alone. That is deliberate: on a busy network we can see dozens of devices and most of them are your customers' own routers, so watching everything would bury you in false alarms.
  • When a box goes down, the screen says which one, how long it has been down, and how many customers are connected behind it. The time matters — it is the difference between a box that just rebooted and one that died last night.
  • If several boxes on the same port go dark together, we say so instead of raising a separate alarm for each. That usually means the cable or the switch feeding them, not the boxes themselves — one place to check instead of five roofs.
  • Customer numbers are counted per port. Where one port feeds several access points, your router cannot tell which of them a customer came through, so we show the number against the port rather than guess.
  • If we cannot reach your router at all, we say that plainly rather than showing you old information as though it were live.
  • We show what your router can actually see: name, address, port, and up or down. We cannot see signal strength, channels, or firmware on access points that are not ours, so we do not pretend to.
20 August 2026

See who your best customers are

  • There is a new Top Customers tab under Sales & Money. It ranks the people who buy from you by how many times they have bought — so the customer on their thirtieth purchase no longer looks the same as the one who bought once.
  • Your top three are shown on a podium with a gold, silver and bronze medal. Below that, everyone else is listed in order, with a tier beside their name: Champion, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Returning or New.
  • The tiers are not made up. Across every ISP on VunaFlow, half of all customers buy exactly once, and fewer than three in a hundred ever reach thirty purchases. So Bronze at five purchases already puts someone in the top quarter of your customers, and Gold at thirty is genuinely rare.
  • Each customer also shows how close they are to the next tier — "3 more to Gold" — so you know who is worth a word or a small thank-you.
  • The part worth watching is Going quiet. A regular who has bought five times or more and has now gone fourteen days without buying is money quietly leaving, and until now nothing told you. They vanish from a payments list, because not buying makes no row. Here they are flagged.
  • You can search for any number or name, and export the whole list to CSV.
  • Most hotspot buyers never register, so they show as a phone number rather than a name. You can now put a name to any of them: tap Add name on their card or row and type it. It sticks, and you can search by it afterwards.
  • Every customer now has Call and Message buttons. Call opens your phone's dialler. Message opens your messaging app with a note already written — for someone who has gone quiet it mentions how long it has been. You read it, change it if you want, and send it yourself. Neither uses your SMS credit.
  • Amounts follow your Hide amounts setting, so you can open it in front of a customer.
19 August 2026

Light mode

  • The dashboard now comes in light as well as dark. There is a switch at the top of your dashboard, next to Hide amounts — one tap and it changes.
  • For the full choice, Settings → Appearance gives you Dark, Light, or Match my device.
  • Dark stays the default. Change nothing and the dashboard looks exactly as it does today. If you work in a bright shop or outside in daylight, light mode is easier on the eyes.
  • Your choice is saved against your account, so signing in on another computer or phone brings it with you. Technician logins, and any account whose subscription has lapsed, can still switch — but only on the device in front of them, and it is not kept.
  • The colours light mode uses were worked out against a readability standard rather than picked by eye, so your figures stay legible on a bright screen.
  • Your sign-in screen, the public pages and your customers' portal are not affected — they look the same as they always have.
18 August 2026

Collecting on a paybill now works

  • If your customers pay into a paybill rather than a till, those payments now go through and stay in your account. This is on for everyone collecting on a paybill — you do not need to ask us for it.
  • Until now most of them could not. The prompt would reach your customer, they would pay, and M-Pesa would send the money straight back — or refuse the prompt outright. It was not your paybill and it was not your router: the M-Pesa setup we sent payments through was only ever registered for tills, and Safaricom will not let a till account pay into a paybill.
  • We have set up a second M-Pesa account of our own, registered for paybills, and paybill payments now go through that one instead. We tested it with real payments first — into a business paybill and into a bank account — and watched the money land and stay.
  • Setting it up is easier too. Choose Paybill in Settings, then pick your bank by name — Equity, KCB, Co-op, Family and the rest are all there — and we fill in its paybill number for you. No more hunting for six digits.
  • One thing to get right if your paybill belongs to a bank: the account number. It is how the bank knows whose account to credit, so it must be your real account number — not your name and not your WiFi brand. Settings now asks for it and tells you plainly when it is missing.
  • Nothing changes if you collect on a till. That is most of you, and your payments carry on exactly as before.
  • You can see what your customer will see before you save: the payee, your paybill and the account number are shown on a sample prompt as you type.
15 August 2026

Outages now tell you why, not just when

  • Every outage on the Outages tab now says whether your router restarted or stayed on the whole time.
  • 'Restarted' means it lost power. Nothing was wrong with your line or with us — a small UPS is what fixes those.
  • 'Line dropped' means the router kept running and the internet coming into it went away. That one is for whoever supplies your line.
  • We could always tell the difference — the router reports how long it has been on the moment we reach it again — we just never showed you. Across all our ISPs in the past week, three quarters of outages were the router restarting.
  • Old outages will not have a reason. Every new one does.
12 August 2026

Give a customer more time, even when they are offline

  • Vouchers now has an Extend button on every code that has been used. Pick +30 minutes, +1 hour, +3 hours, +1 day, or type any number of minutes.
  • It works whether or not the customer is connected. Until now the only Extend was on the Sessions page, which lists people who are online right this second — so the one customer you most wanted to compensate, the one who got cut off, was the one you could not reach.
  • The extra time simply waits for them. Next time they enter their code it is there.
  • Sorry to anyone who was told to 'open the voucher and use Extend' before today. That was our instruction for a button that did not exist yet. It does now.
12 August 2026

Reach your router from anywhere

  • Remote Access is now switched on for every ISP. Open Routers and, if your router is on our newer WireGuard connection, you can reach it with WinBox from home, from town, from wherever you are — no trip to the site, no public IP, no port forwarding.
  • It was built for everyone but left switched off, so most of you never saw it and some reported it as missing. That was our mistake, and it is fixed.
  • If your router is still on the older connection you will see 'Request remote access' instead. Most routers are. Tap it and we will contact you to arrange a quiet time to move you across — usually early morning. Your customers stay online throughout; it only changes how we reach the router.
  • Two ways in once you are eligible. Open a temporary WinBox link that closes itself after 24 hours, or add a device and download a config for a private tunnel of your own.
  • You can connect up to 3 devices. Finished with one — an old laptop or a phone you replaced? Remove it and the slot frees up straight away.
  • Whichever you use, it reaches only your own router. Never anyone else's, and never the rest of the network.
12 August 2026

Tell your customers when something goes wrong

  • New 'Send announcement' button on the Communication page. Write one message — a fibre cut, planned works, or that service is back — and it goes to your hotspot customers by SMS.
  • Choose who hears it: customers whose time is still running, or everyone who bought in the last 7, 30 or 90 days. Tap 'Choose who' to see the list and untick anyone you would rather not text.
  • It shows how many people will receive it and how much credit you have before you send, so there are no surprises. One credit per customer, and a repeat buyer is only texted once.
  • Until now only Home Internet (PPPoE) customers could be messaged this way — hotspot operators had no way to reach their buyers during an outage.
11 August 2026

Your revenue figures now add up

  • The PPPoE and Hotspot amounts under the Revenue chart were wrong, and we're sorry. Hotspot counted every portal sale twice — once as the payment and again as the voucher it produced — so the figure could be nearly double the truth.
  • Those amounts also covered all time while the chart above them showed 7 or 30 days, which is why they never matched. They now cover exactly the period you have selected, so the parts always add up to the total.
  • Payments you voided were still counted as income. They no longer are — a cancelled sale should never inflate your revenue.
  • Nothing about your actual money has changed, only what we were showing you. If your revenue looks lower today, this is why: it is now the real figure.
11 August 2026

See what you earned each day

  • The Revenue card on your dashboard now lists the last 7 days one by one — 'Sat 8 Aug · 12 sales · KSh 340' — so you can compare weekends against weekdays and spot your patterns.
  • The chart always had daily figures, but you could only see them by hovering with a mouse — on a phone they were unreachable. Now they're plain rows anyone can read.
  • Quiet days show as zero instead of being hidden. A slow Tuesday is worth knowing about.
11 August 2026

Voucher SMS is now optional

  • You can now turn off the SMS that texts each buyer their voucher code — Settings, 'Voucher SMS'. It applies the moment you flip the switch.
  • Why you might: every message costs 1 SMS credit, and on low-priced packages that is a real share of the sale. Customers who connect automatically after paying also see their code right on the payment screen, so many never needed the text.
  • It stays on unless you turn it off — nothing changes for your business until you choose. Skipped messages are noted in your logs so you always know why a customer was not texted.
11 August 2026

Clearer packages, reachable heavy users, readable outage history

  • Portal package cards now show how many devices each package allows — '2 hours · 3M · 1 device' — so customers choosing between a single-device and a family package can tell them apart before paying.
  • The Heavy users list on Analytics now shows the customer's phone number (from their purchase) with the device underneath, instead of only a device address. If you want to reward your top users with a voucher, you now know who to text.
  • The Compensated and history tables on the Outages tab now use the same clean, well-spaced layout as the Payments page.
11 August 2026

Hotspot SMS: switches apply instantly, and the heads-up is now optional

  • Turning hotspot expiry SMS on or off now takes effect the moment you flip the switch — no separate save button to remember. If saving fails, the switch flips back so what you see is always what is live.
  • The 'expiring soon' heads-up now has its own switch. Keep the after-expiry message but skip the heads-up (or the other way round) — before, one switch controlled both and there was no way to separate them.
  • The settings card now states the real cost plainly: each successful message uses 1 SMS credit, so with both messages on a single package can use up to 2 credits, plus the voucher SMS at purchase. Nothing about what is sent has changed — only the honest label.
  • The Save button now only applies to the message template, which is the one thing that still needs it.
11 August 2026

NCBA payments now renew customers automatically

  • If you collect through NCBA, customer payments now complete on their own: when a customer pays the STK prompt, their account renews and reconnects within a minute — no more marking paid customers by hand.
  • This covers renewal prompts you send from a customer's page as well as payments customers start themselves from your portal.
  • If a customer cancels the prompt or lets it time out, the payment is now marked failed with a clear reason within minutes, instead of hanging for a day — so you know quickly whether to follow up.
  • Each payment is recorded exactly once, with the bank receipt attached. Previously a paid renewal could show up as both a 'failed' attempt and a separate unmatched payment.
4 August 2026

Voucher login mode: one button, not two

  • Changing between 'voucher code only' and 'code + password' now takes ONE click: Save & apply. It saves your choice and updates every hotspot router in the same step — no second button to remember.
  • If a router is offline the change is kept safely and clearly marked 'Saved, but not live yet', with a Retry button. Your customers keep using the current mode until every router has the new login page.
  • Before, saving only stored the choice and a separate Apply button made it real — several operators changed the setting, clicked Deploy Portal, and understandably thought nothing had happened.
3 August 2026

New payment gateway: NCBA Bank

  • If your business collects through NCBA, you can now select NCBA in Settings → Payment gateway and enter the credentials from your NCBA STK/API activation — customer payments prompt via NCBA STK and settle straight to your NCBA till/account.
  • Bring your own keys: NCBA must have activated the STK and API Push services for your till (ask your branch for the activation letter). Save the credentials, confirm the emailed code, then send yourself the KSh 1 test prompt — NCBA only goes live for customers after the test passes.
  • Customers who pay your NCBA till directly (paybill 880100 with your till as account) are auto-credited as before — that path is unchanged.
30 July 2026

Win customers back when their time runs out

  • You can now have a text sent automatically the moment a customer's hotspot package expires, inviting them to buy again. Most people simply forget — this is the nudge that brings them back.
  • It's off until you switch it on. Go to Settings, scroll to 'Hotspot expiry SMS', turn it on and save.
  • Write your own message if you like. Use {business} for your business name, {package} for what they bought, {link} for your buy page, and {support} for your support number — we fill those in for each customer.
  • Each text costs one SMS credit from your balance, so top up before switching it on. Nothing is sent if your balance is empty.
  • Only one text per package, sent once their time is actually up — never a reminder before, and never the same customer twice for the same purchase.
28 July 2026

Install VunaFlow as an app on your phone or computer

  • You can now install VunaFlow like a normal app. Look for 'Install app' at the bottom of the menu, or the install icon in your browser's address bar.
  • Once installed it gets its own icon on your home screen or desktop and opens in its own window, without browser tabs and address bars in the way.
  • On an iPhone, tap Share and then 'Add to Home Screen'.
  • It always shows live figures — it will never show you an out-of-date balance or payment. If you lose signal it tells you plainly, rather than showing you old numbers.
26 July 2026

New: Outages — give customers their time back in one click

  • There's a new Outages tab under Network. Whenever one of your routers goes down and comes back, it's recorded there — so you have an honest record of your own uptime instead of guessing.
  • When customers lost time, one click adds that time back to everyone who was affected: hotspot buyers and PPPoE customers together. Tick 'SMS them' first if you'd like them told.
  • Before you decide, open 'Show the affected customers' to see exactly who gets what — PPPoE customers by name, phone and account number, hotspot buyers by phone and voucher code, each with the time they'll actually receive.
  • Nobody is ever given more time than the package they bought. Someone on a 30-minute ticket gets at most 30 minutes back, even after a night-long outage — so a long outage can't quietly give away days of free internet.
  • The list is grouped so it stays readable: what needs a decision at the top, then routers still down, then what you've already compensated. Brief interruptions under 10 minutes are tucked away so they don't bury the ones that matter.
20 July 2026

Adding days now switches the customer back on — reliably

  • When you add complimentary days to a PPPoE customer, their connection is now switched back on at the router in the same click — no need to press Enable afterwards.
  • If the router can't be reached at that moment, you'll see a clear warning instead of silence, and the system keeps retrying every 15 minutes until it lands.
17 July 2026

Sell packages only at certain hours

  • When you create or edit a package you can now switch on 'Available only at certain hours' and pick a From and To time — perfect for a cheaper late-night pass (say a half-price bundle sold only 12:00 AM–4:00 AM).
  • Outside those hours the package simply doesn't show on your sign-in page, and a purchase can't go through even if someone has an old link — so no one buys the night rate at noon. Windows that run past midnight (e.g. 10:00 PM–4:00 AM) work too.
  • Leave the switch off and the package stays available around the clock, exactly as before. Times use Kenyan time.
16 July 2026

Faster router setup

  • Connecting a router is now instant: the moment your router dials in, it's claimed and ready — the captive portal, packages, and anti-bypass rules finish setting up in the background while you carry on. No more waiting on the 'claiming…' screen when a router is slow.
16 July 2026

Block a device for good

  • On the Sessions page you can now Block any connected device by its MAC address. A blocked device can't load your sign-in page, buy a voucher, or connect again — on any of your routers.
  • See and manage every blocked device on the new Blocked tab, and Unblock with one click if you change your mind.
  • Blocks stick: if a router is reset or you add a new one, your blocked devices are re-applied automatically.
14 July 2026

One renewal payment — and clearer consequences

  • Your monthly renewal is now ONE M-Pesa payment: the KSh 500 dashboard fee plus your PPPoE and Static IP customer fees together, all extended to the same date. The Billing page shows the full breakdown before you pay.
  • If you already paid this month, nothing changes until your next renewal — your PPPoE/Static fees simply join that payment.
  • When a renewal date passes unpaid, the dashboard now locks until you pay — renewing from the lock screen takes one M-Pesa prompt and access returns instantly. Your customers' existing connections are never touched.
13 July 2026

PPPoE billing made clear

  • If you run PPPoE customers, the PPPoE page now shows your monthly platform bill right where you work: number of customers, the rate, the total and the due date — with a one-tap Pay button.
  • First time? Your PPPoE billing clock starts with a 14-day runway from today, so there are no surprises — you'll see the exact due date immediately.
  • After the due date passes unpaid, adding NEW customers is paused until you renew. Your existing customers and their payments are never interrupted.
13 July 2026

Fibre ISPs: no more forced captive portal

  • Connecting a router now asks what it will serve: Hotspot (Wi-Fi vouchers) or PPPoE/Static only. Choose PPPoE/Static and no captive portal is installed — your LAN and OLT management traffic stay untouched.
  • Deploying a portal onto a PPPoE/Static-only router now requires an explicit confirmation, so a stray click can never break a fibre site.
  • New Remove Hotspot button on every router: cleanly removes the captive portal and VunaFlow hotspot artifacts over the tunnel — no WinBox needed. DHCP and your PPPoE/Static customers are never touched.
13 July 2026

See who is online — and give them more time

  • The Sessions page now shows who bought each hotspot session: the buyer's phone number (tap to call, one tap to copy) and their M-Pesa receipt. Free trials and cash vouchers are labelled too.
  • New Extend button on every session: give any customer an extra 30 minutes, 1 hour, 3 hours or 1 day on the spot — perfect for goodwill after a complaint. Every extension is recorded in Logs.
  • Customers whose time ran out in the last 48 hours appear under Recently expired on the All Users tab, so you can still extend them after they were disconnected — they simply reconnect with the same voucher.
  • Fix: automatic outage compensation now correctly adds the downtime back to active hotspot vouchers.
12 July 2026

Auto-compensation after outages

  • New in Settings → Alerts: when a router comes back from an outage, VunaFlow can automatically add the downtime to every affected customer's remaining time — active hotspot vouchers and PPPoE customers on that router. You choose the minimum outage length (default 30 minutes) so brief blips don't trigger it, and every grant is recorded in Logs.
  • Reminder: to stop customers sharing one voucher across many phones, set Devices to 1 on the package — the router itself then refuses a second device on the same code.
12 July 2026

Payments page: money totals + click for usage

  • The Payments page now shows what you've collected today, this week and this month — at a glance, no calculator.
  • Click any completed payment to see what the customer actually used: data downloaded and uploaded, how many sessions and devices, and when they were last online.
  • New help guide for connecting TVs, decoders and consoles — see Help → Connecting TVs, plus a printable flyer you can put up at your site (/connect-tv-flyer.pdf).
12 July 2026

Starlink-ready, with self-healing connections

  • Running your ISP on Starlink or a 4G SIM router? VunaFlow manages your MikroTik without a public IP, port forwarding or static-IP fees — no special setup at all.
  • If your site loses power or Starlink blips, your router now reconnects to VunaFlow by itself within minutes — no technician visit, no support ticket. Already proven on live ISPs running Starlink backhaul.
12 July 2026

Import your price list too

  • New Import CSV on PPPoE → Plans: paste your price list and the plans are created in one go — a plan named 5MBPS with a price is enough, the speed is read from the name. Bandwidth profiles are matched or created automatically, and Preview shows what will happen before anything is saved.
11 July 2026

Import any customer spreadsheet

  • The PPPoE customer import now understands real-world spreadsheets: common column names are recognized automatically (Name, Mobile, Package, PPPoE_Username, Expires…), phone numbers are fixed up (07xx becomes 2547xx) and usernames are cleaned for the router — no more renaming columns by hand.
  • New Preview button: see exactly which customers will import and which rows need fixing — and why — before anything is written to your account or your router.
11 July 2026

Technician roles, safer sign-ins, and team activity

  • New: choose exactly what each technician can do. Open Team, hit Roles on any technician, and tick what you trust them with — edit customers, delete, suspend/restore, collect payments, manage plans or vouchers. Everyone keeps the safe defaults (view and add customers, tickets) until you grant more; billing and payment settings can never be granted.
  • You now get an instant email whenever a technician adds, edits or deletes a customer — plus a Team activity feed on the Team page showing everything they've done. Turn the emails off any time; the feed keeps recording.
  • Safer sign-ins: logging in from a new device now asks for a 6-digit code from your email — once per device, then it's remembered for 6 months. You'll also get a 'new device signed in' alert so a stolen password can't be used quietly.
  • See and remove your trusted devices under Settings → Security → My devices. 'Sign out everywhere' instantly locks out every remembered browser — handy when a staff member leaves.
  • Bulk import for PPPoE customers: bring a whole spreadsheet in one go (CSV) — plans matched by name, real paid-until dates preserved, paid customers come online immediately. Billing-only mode for routers already set up.
10 July 2026

Customers can now pay for several periods at once

  • A paybill payment now buys as many plan periods as it covers — KSh 300 on a 100-per-day plan gives 3 days, KSh 700 gives a week. Works on every payment channel: paybill, NCBA, Kopo Kopo, portal.
  • Partial extras still behave safely: KSh 250 on a 100 plan gives 2 days and the remainder stays recorded on the account.
10 July 2026

Clean up voucher batches you no longer need

  • Generated too many vouchers? Each batch on the Vouchers page now has a Delete unused button — it removes the unused codes from your ledger AND from the router, so deleted codes can never be redeemed.
  • Used vouchers and vouchers a customer has paid for are always protected — only unsold, never-used codes are deleted.
  • If the router is offline at the time, the cleanup is queued and completes automatically when it reconnects.
10 July 2026

Held payments apply themselves when you fix a plan

  • If a customer pays your paybill while their plan is set to the wrong price, the money is held as a partial payment. Now, the moment you correct their plan, that money applies automatically — the customer is activated and reconnected with no manual extending.
  • Works for Static IP and PPPoE customers, for payments from the last 7 days that cover the corrected plan price.
10 July 2026

Paybill payments now match by name or shop number

  • Customers paying your paybill or NCBA till can now type their NAME or shop number as the account — "SHOP 339" or just "339" works, not only the formal account number.
  • Safety first: if two customers share a name or number, the money is recorded for you to match manually — it is never credited to a guess.
  • Payments with an account nobody matches are always recorded and flagged in your logs, so money never disappears.
9 July 2026

Kopo Kopo payments + referral sharing

  • New: take M-Pesa STK payments straight to your own Kopo Kopo till — your business name appears on the prompt, and money settles to your bank next day.
  • Customers who pay your till directly from the M-Pesa menu now auto-renew too — no more manual intervention.
  • Share your referral link right from the dashboard. When an ISP you invite starts on VunaFlow and makes their first payment, you get 30 free days and they get 14.
  • Your voucher list now shows exactly when each voucher expires — the clock starts the first time the customer connects, so unused cards read 'on first use'.
  • Per-router billing is now enforced: a router whose subscription expires stops selling vouchers (connected customers are unaffected) until you extend it — look for the Sales paused tag on Billing.
  • Accounts with more than one router now renew each router individually on the Billing page — the flat renew button remains for single-router accounts.
  • New Expenses page (Sales & Money): log your business costs — rent, bandwidth, salaries and more — and see Revenue minus Expenses as live monthly Net profit.
  • Complaints grew into a full Tickets desk: statuses, urgent flags, technician assignment, an awaiting-first-response badge, and staff can now log tickets for phone or walk-in issues.
  • New Analytics page (Sales & Money): ARPU and paying-customer trends, where your money comes from by channel, a busy-hours grid of network activity, plus top packages and heaviest data users.
9 July 2026

Router connection that survives hostile networks

  • Connecting a RouterOS 7 MikroTik now uses WireGuard — a modern tunnel that works through mobile/CGNAT internet and modems that silently break the old VPN. Same one-paste command, far more reliable.
  • Older RouterOS 6 routers automatically keep the previous method — nothing changes for them.
9 July 2026

Refer an ISP, both get free days

  • New: refer another WiFi operator. Share your link (Billing page). When they start on VunaFlow and make their first payment, you BOTH get 30 free days on your subscription.
  • Stale payments that never got a confirmation from M-Pesa now auto-clear after 24 hours, so your payment counts stay accurate.
8 July 2026

Customers can renew themselves by Paybill

  • New: Paybill auto-renew. If you collect on your own M-Pesa Paybill, customers can pay from their M-Pesa menu with their account number (e.g. GRE-0014) and their internet is extended automatically — no dashboard action needed.
  • Wrong account numbers and part-payments are still recorded and flagged for you, so no money ever goes missing.
  • Enable it with one click in Settings under your own M-Pesa keys.
  • Also new: see your LIVE paybill balance right on the dashboard (all money on the account, not just what came through here) — one-time API-operator setup in Settings.
8 July 2026

A calmer dashboard

  • The menu is now grouped into sections — Customers, Network, Sales & Money, Outreach and System — so you find things faster.
  • Search everything with Cmd+K / Ctrl+K: customers, routers, payments and pages — it opens with your most recent customers and quick actions like Add customer and Top up SMS.
  • New privacy toggle: hide all money amounts with one click when someone's looking over your shoulder — now covers the dashboard, payments, billing history, SMS costs and customer dialogs.
  • On quiet days the dashboard suggests what to do next — offline routers, expiring customers, low voucher stock — instead of showing zeros.
  • The PPPoE page header is tidier: secondary actions now live under a single ⋯ menu.
  • This What's new page — every improvement lands here, with a dot in the menu when there's something fresh.
7 July 2026

Technician accounts, safer and consistent

  • Technicians now see exactly what they can do: view routers and customers, and add new customers — no deleting, suspending, renewing or date changes.
  • Technicians get the same Add-Customer wizard as the owner.
  • M-Pesa Paybill prompts now show your WiFi brand as the account name, so customers recognise who they're paying.
  • Customers whose creation failed while a router was offline are now fixed automatically within the hour once the router is back.
6 July 2026

Run more than one router

  • Any number of MikroTik routers can now connect on one account — even several behind the same internet line.
  • Clearer messages on the captive portal when M-Pesa has a problem, instead of technical codes.
5 July 2026

Communication in one place

  • New Communication tab: every SMS you've sent, delivery status, cost — click any message to read its full text — and top up SMS right there.
  • Move a customer to another router in two clicks, or migrate all customers between routers at once.
  • See revenue per router, so you know which site earns.
  • Daily alert when your SMS balance runs low.
4 July 2026

Enforcement you can rely on

  • Suspend and expiry now disconnect customers 100% reliably, including Static IP drops.
  • Reminder days before expiry are now editable per plan.
  • Payments can be voided with a reason — kept for audit, removed from totals.
1 July 2026

Remote router access

  • Open WinBox to any of your routers from anywhere — no port forwarding, no public IP needed.

You're all caught up.
